First-Time Setup & Calibration

Before powering on

  1. Remove every shipping screw and foam block — the A1 ships with the toolhead and bed locked for transport, and the quick-start guide marks each one.
  2. Place the printer on a stable, heavy surface. The A1 moves its bed along the Y axis, so a wobbly table shows up directly as ringing in your prints.
  3. Leave at least 30 cm behind the printer for the bed to travel without hitting a wall.

First boot

On first power-on the A1 runs its full automatic calibration: bed leveling, Z-offset, vibration compensation and motor noise cancellation. Do not touch the printer or the table while it runs — it is measuring vibrations and any bump ruins the result.

Tip: Run the full calibration again from the screen whenever you move the printer to a different table.

First print

Load filament through the side spool holder (or the AMS lite), bind the printer to Bambu Handy or Bambu Studio, and print one of the pre-loaded models from the screen. If it comes out clean, the mechanics and calibration are fine.
