Quick-Swap Hotend & Nozzle Maintenance

Swapping the hotend

The A1's nozzle and heater come as one module that clips into the toolhead.

  1. Heat the nozzle and unload the filament from the screen.
  2. Let it cool below 50 °C.
  3. Open the clip on the toolhead, pull the hotend down and out, and insert the new one until it clicks.
  4. Select the new nozzle diameter on the screen and in Bambu Studio.

Clearing a clog

  1. Heat to the printing temperature of the last material and try a manual load — often the clog pushes through.
  2. If not, do a cold pull: heat, push some filament in by hand, cool to about 90 °C (for PLA), then pull it out firmly.
  3. If it is still blocked, swap the hotend and clean the old one separately.

Keeping the tip clean

A blob of filament on the nozzle tip disturbs automatic leveling. Wipe the tip with a brass brush while it is hot and check the silicone sock for damage.
