Wi-Fi, LAN & Cloud Connectivity
Cloud mode vs. LAN-only mode
By default, the P1S connects through Bambu's cloud service for remote monitoring via the Handy app. LAN-only mode keeps all communication on your local network instead. Switch modes from the touchscreen network settings.
Common connection issues
Won't connect during setup
Most units need a 2.4GHz network for initial pairing, even though they support 5GHz afterward. Temporarily splitting a combined-band router SSID usually resolves this.
Drops mid-print
The physical print continues even if Wi-Fi drops briefly — a monitoring disconnect isn't a print failure. Check router DHCP lease settings and signal strength if this happens often.
Handy app shows "offline" but the printer is fine
Usually a cloud connectivity issue, not a print issue. Check your internet connection, or switch to LAN-only mode with Bambu Studio's local device discovery if this is frequent.
Tip: If you manage multiple printers or prefer not to rely on cloud servers, LAN-only mode plus Bambu Studio's local send is the most reliable combination for day-to-day printing.
