Extruder Clogs & the Hardened Nozzle

Abrasive filaments

The "C" in K1C stands for carbon: it ships with a hardened steel quick-swap nozzle and an all-metal extruder path, so PLA-CF and PETG-CF print without wearing out a brass nozzle in a few rolls.

Clearing a clog

  1. Heat the nozzle to the last material's temperature and try to push filament through by hand.
  2. If it will not move, unload, cool to around 90 °C and do a cold pull.
  3. Still blocked? Swap the nozzle — on the K1C it unscrews as one unit with the heat break, so swap it hot only with proper gloves, or cold if the instructions for your model say so.

Grinding or clicking

Clicking means the extruder cannot push filament. Check for a clog, a tangled spool, or a too-low nozzle temperature for the speed you are printing.
